Online sports betting in Wyoming is legal and operational. Wyoming is one of just a few states to pass legislation authorizing online sports betting but not retail sportsbooks. However, tribal casino operators in Wyoming have stated they intend to offer retail sports betting under existing tribal compacts with the state.

The law passed to create legal sports betting in Wyoming creates an industry-friendly market that likely will invite competition from the biggest names in the US industry. State law requires that regulators hand out at least five WY sports betting licenses. However, there is no established cap, leaving open the possibility of more.
The state features mobile sports wagering through multiple operators because there are no commercial casinos in the state. Two Native American tribes operate four tribal casinos. Since those tribes can offer Class III gaming, they also would receive the right to offer sports betting at their casinos.
There are four legal mobile apps for sports betting in Wyoming starting with DraftKings, FanDuel, Caesars, and BetMGM. Two more apps, PointsBet and Barstool, are approved for licenses and could launch in the coming months.

Nov. 27, 2023 — Wyoming sports betting handle rose to $21.2 million in October, up 10.4% from September and a new record high for the state.
Nov. 15, 2023 — Underdog Fantasy is releasing peer-to-peer pick ’em contests in Wyoming. The new contests will also be available in Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi.
Oct. 25, 2023 — Wyoming set a new state record for sports betting handle with $19.2 million in wagers in September. That was a 29.5% increase year-over-year and an 84.6% increase from August.
Oct. 2, 2023 — Wyoming sports betting handle reached $10.4 million in August, an increase of about $2.3 million month-over-month.
Aug. 24, 2023 — Prizepicks and Underdog Fantasy say they are working with regulators in Wyoming after their player vs. house pick ’em games were classified as unlicensed sports betting in the state.
March 2022: FanDuel Sportsbook has officially launched online in Wyoming.
September 2021: Legal online sports betting is now live in Wyoming. Sports fans across the Equality State can begin placing wagers as of September 1, 2021. DraftKings and BetMGM are among the first sportsbooks to open their virtual doors.
June 2021: The Wyoming Gaming Commission submitted a final draft of sports betting rules for the state to Gov. Mark Gordon. This set of rules will undergo a 45-day review process before finalizing any rules ahead of a potential September 1, 2021 launch date.
April 2021: Gov. Mark Gordon signed bill HB 133 into state law, with Rep. Tom Walters sponsoring the bill. This effectively legalized WY sports betting at the state level.
