Thursday, April 13 NHL Parlay Picks

Sportsbook
By Tom Wilkinson

The last big day of the NHL regular season takes place on Thursday with 15 games on the schedule. Only two teams are not in action, so we have a lot of games to choose from. What makes Thursday’s schedule more difficult is that some teams will have packed it in for the season and be looking to go home, while other teams will want to finish out strong. There may also still be a playoff spot on the line and there definitely could be some teams playing for seeding. We’ll look to navigate a tricky Thursday NHL schedule. Let’s look at Thursday, April 13 NHL parlay picks.

Montreal Canadiens

It may seem a little strange to be going against the best team in the NHL, but the Bruins have already clinched the top spot and they have already set the NHL record for most wins in a season. They have nothing to play for in this game and won’t want to get anyone hurt. This is still a huge rivalry game and the Canadiens will want to win this game in front of the home fans. I’ll take the Canadiens in this one.

Colorado Avalanche

The Avalanche will still have a game to play on Friday, as they visit Nashville. The Jets may need this game to clinch a playoff spot or it may mean little if they beat Minnesota on Tuesday. Regardless, we know that the Avalanche will be playing for first place in the Central. Colorado is the better team and whether or not Winnipeg has anything to play for doesn’t matter to me. The Avalanche have won 8 of the last 10 at home against the Jets. Colorado is at home and will need to win this game, so I’ll take the Avalanche.

Arizona Coyotes

The Coyotes close out their season at home, as they host the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night. It has been a tough season for both teams, but at least Arizona has played well at home. They are 21-15-4 at Mullett Arena this season. The Canucks have been a major disappointment this season and there is no reason to think they are going to close out the season with a win. I’ll take the Coyotes in this one.

Thursday, April 13 NHL Totals Parlay

Philadelphia @ Chicago

We’ll make it a two-teamer for the totals parlay on Thursday and take two games where goals should be plentiful. The Flyers and Blackhawks have no reason to play defense and they should be looking to add to their point totals in the season finale. Neither team is any good defensively anyway, so this should be a high scoring game. The Blackhawks haven’t been playing any defense of late and I don’t think that changes on Thursday. I’ll go over the total with the Flyers and Blackhawks.

San Jose @ Edmonton Over

The Sharks and Oilers play on Thursday night in another game that should be high scoring. The Sharks haven’t been able to slow down anyone lately. They seem to be caring more about Karlsson’s point total than anything else. It is sad that Karlsson is likely to win the Norris even though he doesn’t play much defense. The Oilers should be padding their goal totals in what should be a rout. You can make a case to take the Oilers in this one, but since the seeding situation will be unknown, we’ll stick to simply playing the total. It definitely doesn’t hurt our cause that 7 of the last 10 in this series, including the last four have gone over the total. I’ll go over the total with the Sharks and Oilers on Thursday night.
