February 4, 2025Suns at Thunder Same Game Parlay Recap
A big second half allowed the Oklahoma City Thunder to cash our NBA same game parlay at Proline+ in their matchup with the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, Feb. 5. OKC scored the first 13 points of the third quarter erasing a 63-61 halftime deficit and outscored the Suns 43-16 in the frame and cruised to a 140-109 victory easily covering the 12.5-point spread. The Thunder have been one of the most profitable teams in the league with their payout giving them a 32-15-3 record against the NBA betting line.
The Thunder got another huge game from the NBA’s leading scorer with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander making another impressive statement for MVP. SGA scored 50 points shooting 18 of 29 from the field and 11 of 12 from the free throw line. He scored at least that many points for the third time in seven games and according to the team he’s the ninth player in NBA history with three 50+-point games in a seven-game stretch. As a team the Thunder shot 51 percent from the field and made 24 of 27 free throws cashing the OVER on the NBA betting odds.

Playing the best team in the Western Conference without Kevin Durant put the Suns in a bad spot. Durant missed another game due to an ankle injury and the club couldn’t keep up. Phoenix hung close in the first half and took a lead into halftime. However, the absence of their leading scorer and 22 turnovers was eventually too much to overcome. And Devin Booker failed to pick up the scoring slack making just 3 of 9 field goals and zero three-pointers, though he did score 18 points on 13 free throws. Accuracy from the stripe was paramount in exceeding the point total. The teams combined to make 88 percent of their charity shots.
This game was much different from the first meeting between the clubs back in November, which was another Thunder home win. OKC held the Suns to their lowest point total of the season and got 28 points from Gilgeous-Alexander to cover the 7.5-point spread in a 99-83 decision. KD also missed that game. Phoenix had better success shooting the basketball on Wednesday making 47 percent of its shots with Bradley Beal making 7 of 11 field goals for a team-high 25 points.

The Western Conference leading Oklahoma City Thunder host the Phoenix Suns in a key matchup on Wednesday in the second game of ESPN’s doubleheader. OKC was going through a minor slump losing two of three games before busting loose with a 144-110 triumph over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night. The Thunder remains one of the more profitable teams in the league with payouts in nearly 64 percent of their games. OKC has won and covered in the last four matchups, including a 99-83 triumph in the first meeting of the season back in November behind 28 points from MVP front-runner Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

It’s been an up and down season so far for the Suns as they battle just about every team in the West for playoff positioning. Just when it looks like they’re hitting their stride and making a move in the standings they plummet back to the pack. Recent games are an indication of just how inconsistent the Suns have been. They had won three straight and eight out of 10 before a home loss to Minnesota last week. They then opened a brief three-game road trip by trouncing the Warriors, 130-105, with Devin Booker going off for 31 points.
Failing to build on the momentum of that victory the Suns lost in Portland, 127-108, in the second game of a back-to-back. The Suns dropped to 25-23 and as of Sunday they are just one game ahead of Sacramento for ninth with Portland only six games behind them. The Suns and Blazers finish off their two-game series on Monday in another important game. As we get closer to the end of the season every game has an impact on the standings with the teams so close together.
Something that could help the Suns gain some separation and contend for a top-six is better health. When the teams played in November the Suns were without Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal and Grayson Allen and they put up their lowest point total of the season. In the win at Golden State the trio combined for 51 points and 11 three-pointers. Phoenix has also cashed the OVER in three straight games.
Even the best teams have a clunker every once in a while and the Thunder had one last week losing to the Warriors, 116-109. One of the NBA’s most efficient teams at both ends of the floor, they were beaten at their own game. They shot just 40.4 percent and were 9 of 29 from behind the arc. The Thunder also allowed the second-most points in their last 11 games with the Warriors shooting nearly 50 percent.
SGA did his best to get a win scoring 52 points on 16 of 29 shooting from the floor. It was his second 50-point game in the last four for the NBA’s leading scorer. OKC hasn’t lost two games in a row since mid-November and they made sure it didn’t happen by thumping Sacramento, 144-110, on Saturday night easily covering the NBA point spread and improving to 20-3 SU and 15-7-1 ATS at home.
OKC will get a Phoenix club closer to full strength then it was in November. It hasn’t mattered who they play, though, since they’ve rolled through everybody behind the leagues stingiest defense. The Thunder boasts the largest point differential at +12.3 and averages 117.0 points, sixth best in the Association. We could get some offense with the Suns trotting out KD, Booker, Beal and Allen presenting a still test for the Western Conference’s best team. Still, I like OKC to cover and the OVER.
