Are you ready for some great golf at this week’s PGA Championship? All of the world’s top players are in the field for what should be a very competitive event at Oak Hill Country Club. Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler are the top two betting choices at BetRivers. The PGA Championship will probably produce a few surprises, but expect to see the big names dominating the leaderboard come Sunday afternoon. I went 3-2 last week with the matchups at the AT&T Byron Nelson. Let’s look at PGA Championship matchup picks.
Defending Champion: Justin Thomas
Tournament Notes: Oak Hill Country Club (East Course) is a great course for major golf, as it is the only course to have hosted the PGA Championship, the U.S. Open, the Ryder Cup, the U.S. Amateur, the Senior PGA Championship and the U.S. Senior Open. This will be the fourth time the course has hosted the PGA Championship. The course is a par 70 that measures 7,394 yards.

Golf Picks
Hatton, Tyrrell -110 vs. Day, Jason
Hatton comes in playing well, as he has six top 10 finishes this year. He is sixth on the PGA Tour in adjusted scoring and third in the all-around. I know that many people are high on Jason Day this week but one of the things I have done with success through the years is go against last week’s winner. I’ll take Hatton in this matchup.
Schauffele, Xander -125 vs. Finau, Tony
Could this be the week for Schauffele to get his first major win? He was one of my choices in the picks article. He has a number of top finishes this year and he always seems to play well in majors. Finau has four wins since the Open last year, but he also has yet to win a major. He hasn’t contended as often in majors as has Schauffele and I don’t know that Finau contends this week. I’ll take Schauffele in this matchup.
Fleetwood, Tommy -125 vs. Conners, Corey
One of the players who I think will play well this week is Fleetwood. He has five career top-five finishes in majors. He finished in a tie for 15th at Harbour Town and he tied for 5th at Quail Hollow. The weather is not supposed to be that good this weekend and that should help Fleetwood’s cause. I will take him in this matchup against Conners.
Clark, Wyndham -114 vs. Kim, Si Woo
Clark had his breakthrough at Quail Hollow and there is no question he is playing far better than in the past. He has made his last 16 cuts in the last seven months. I went against Kim last week and it didn’t work out but what I have seen from Kim is that we usually have the matchup decided before the weekend, as he either contends or misses the cut. I’ll take Clark in this matchup.
Scott, Adam -114 vs. Bradley, Keegan
We know that Scott plays well in majors and he comes in playing well with a tie for 5th at Quail Hollow and a tie for 8th at TPC Craig Ranch. I can see Scott doing well this week and if his putter cooperates, he could be a surprise contender. I have no idea what to expect from Bradley, as he is wildly inconsistent. I will take Scott in this matchup.
