January 30, 2025North Carolina Tar Heels at Duke Blue Devils Same Game Parlay Picks Recap
No. 2 Duke dominated archrival North Carolina 87-70, extending its winning streak to 15 games to easily cover the closing 13.5-point CBB betting odds. The Blue Devils shot 52.8% from the field and hit 10 of 20 from deep, cruising to their 11th straight conference win by an average margin of 19.8 points. Freshman star Cooper Flagg impressed in his rivalry debut, posting 21 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Kon Knueppel led Duke with 22 points, while Tyrese Proctor provided key early contributions to finish with 17 points and a trio of assists.
North Carolina struggled from the start, falling behind 40-13 and trailing by as many as 32. RJ Davis and Drake Powell each scored 12, but the Tar Heels shot just 29.6% in the first half and committed nine turnovers, leading to 11 Duke points at the other end of the court. A 16-0 Duke run in the first half effectively sealed the game early. Flagg set up Proctor for a three, then scored five straight himself, including a transition layup after a UNC timeout. By the time Knueppel scored inside, Duke led 23-6 and it was all over but the crying in front of the Cameron Crazies.
UNC has now lost four of its last five games to fall to 6-5 in-conference, while Duke continues to roll through ACC play (11-0), proving its dominance within the conference. Unfortunately, the Dookies took their defensive foot off the pedal in the second half preventing both legs of the suggested same game parlay picks to cash in at Caesars Sportsbook. After limiting UNC to 25 points and less than 30% shooting over the game’s first 20 minutes, it served up a near 65% success rate and 45 points in the second which saw the combined final score exceed the closing 148-point total. There was even a moment that Duke bettors thought they might not cover. Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed and we earned the split.
North Carolina Tar Heels at Duke Blue Devils Same Game Parlay Picks
Cameron Indoor Stadium will be the venue for another installment of college basketball same game parlay picks where the North Carolina Tar Heels and Duke Blue Devils will write another chapter in the storied rivalry. Unfortunately, linemakers aren’t likely to hang a number worthy of the rich tradition considering how rough a campaign it’s been for Hubert Davis and the Heels. The Dookies have come out on the losing end in six of the last 10 meetings both straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS). That includes getting swept and failing to cover the CBB betting odds in each of last year’s showdowns.
The recent series has been of a higher scoring variety with eight of the last 10 playing to high scorers. UNC has however been a stone-cold under bet since ACC play began, and that was once again the case last time out after dropping a 73-65 decision on the road at PITT which grossly failed to exceed the closing 152.5-point Over/Under. The Blue Devils just avenged ACC and NCAA Tournament losses to NC State by disposing of the Wolfpack 74-64 on Monday night to log win No. 18 overall and remain unscathed in conference play. Duke will be installed lofty double-digit home favorites to defeat North Carolina at Caesars Sportsbook with the total set in the upper-140s for the first of two meetings between the hated rivals.

North Carolina Tar Heels
Scoring the basketball has rarely been an issue for the Tar Heels. Though UNC has averaged 81+ points per game for the season (#38), it’s struggled to keep scoreboard operators busy since the New Year. Since nearly hitting the century mark against Campbell back on December 29, North Carolina has only scored an average of 74.7 points in their last nine games and failed to hit that mark in six of those matchups. In Tuesday night’s 73-65 loss against the Panthers, a final margin of victory that saw the team fail to cover the 2.5-point spread, North Carolina missed its final seven shots and made just one of its last 11.
If you take the overtime-aided 102 points scored at Wake Forest out of the equation, they’ll invade Durham having scored an average of just 67.3 points in their last three games. Because of the inability to tickle the twine – or hold onto leads – RJ Davis and his mates have seen the under pay out in eight of their last nine games with 146.3 points scored on average.
Duke Blue Devils
Though the college basketball betting season got out to a rough start for the Dookies with losses incurred to Kansas and Kentucky, Jon Scheyer has seemingly gotten the team back on track. Since falling 75-72 to the Jayhawks in the Vegas Showdown, the Blue Devils have rattled off 14 straight wins with 10 occurring in ACC play. With that, the Dookies clock in as the lone undefeated in the conference with 11 games remaining on the docket before the ACC tournament comes around.
While Cooper Flagg has done his best to pace the offense scoring just shy of 20 points a game, it’s the defense that’s allowed for Duke to flex its collective muscle. The unit has conceded fewer than 60 points per game (#5) and held the opposition to a 37.2% success rate from the field (#5). On top of that, it ranks tenth in defensive rebounding percentage and No. 2 in two-point defense giving up next to nothing within the arc. The excelled defensive play has equated to the under cashing in 12 of 20 overall played games.
Same Game Parlay Picks
North Carolina only possesses one Quad 1 win to go along with eight defeats. While the team talent is simply much better than what the current W/L record dictates, I’m not about to pick this spot as the one where everything falls back into place. Not against a hungry Duke team looking to avenge a pair of losses from last season that’s been getting the job done at the defensive end of the court with regularity.
If off from the field, which has been the norm recently, I don’t foresee the Tar Heels coming up with many offensive caroms as dominant Flagg and 7-foot-2 behemoth Khaman Maluach have been on the defensive glass combining for 14.2 rebounds per game. If North Carolina is able to get out and run and score efficiently, they likely cover this college basketball spread with ease and the game goes over. I’ll bet against that occurring however, and will look to add Duke and the under to my suggested same game parlay picks for what’s certain to be a heated battle.
