CFB Futures – 2024 Oklahoma Sooners Win Total Odds
August 5, 2024CFB Futures – 2024 Oklahoma State Cowboys Win Total Odds
August 6, 2024We scratched out a profitable 3-2 showing with last Tuesday’s MLB parlay picks, largely thanks to a hefty road underdog led by J.P. Sears that showed its teeth. It was the Oakland Athletics who continued to excel against left-handed pitching, sending Robbie Ray to the showers after just 4.1 innings of work. However, we failed to cash either position in the Pirates/Astros game after Houston’s bats put forth a lackluster performance and Hunter Brown failed to deliver.

Minnesota Twins vs. Chicago Cubs MLB Same Game Parlay:
We got involved in Monday night’s series opener expecting the scoreboard operators to be busy right from the jump. This time around, I expect more waiting around and twiddling of the thumbs due to the fantastic pitcher’s duel lined up for the evening. It hasn’t been a pretty MLB betting campaign for Pablo Lopez regardless of the 10 wins, but things seem to be headed in the right direction with the right-hander logging quality starts in each of his last three outings. After tossing six innings of 2 ER ball against the Mets last time out, the righty has only conceded 17 hits (3 HR) and 7 ER with a 26:6 K/BB ratio over his last 25 innings. Chicago’s only fanned at a 20.8% clip against RHP over the last two weeks, but hasn’t fared well against Lopez’s pitch types overall.

New York Mets vs. Colorado Rockies MLB Same Game Parlay:
From a forecasted pitcher’s duel to what I believe will be a one-sided romp, we’re rolling with the Mets in the opener of this three-game set against Colorado in the thin air of the Mile High City. We had no reservations backing Pete Alonso and Co. in last week’s matchup against left-hander Tyler Anderson, who was in the midst of arguably his best MLB campaign. The Mets knocked him around for eight hits and 3 ER en route to a one-sided 5-1 triumph. New York’s lineup has a preference for facing southpaws, with its batting average 16 points higher overall and its OPS 13 points higher over the last month. The Mets have also done their best work away from Citi Field, going 28-23 against the closing baseball betting odds and up $728 for MLB bettors.
Kyle Freeland has been a dependable arm for the Rockies since returning to the starting rotation at the end of June, with Colorado winning five of his seven starts. However, this will be a stern test for the left-hander, as current Mets hitters have a .311 batting average against him, with J.D. Martinez (5/9, 1 HR) living rent-free in his head. Though rock-solid at Coors Field so far (1.88 ERA), Freeland has struggled under the lights, pitching to a 6.75 ERA by giving up 59 hits (8 HR) and 31 ER through 41.1 innings. Look for the regression monster to pay him a visit tonight, with the end result likely being negative.
