February 3, 2025Gonzaga Bulldogs at St. Mary’s Gaels Same Game Parlay Picks Recap
Despite getting 24 points and eight rebounds from big man Graham Ike, as well as 11 points and 12 assists from Ryan Nembhard, the Gonzaga Bulldogs never truly had a shot to win or cover the closing 2.5-point college basketball betting odds in a 62-58 defeat to St. Mary’s in Moraga. Because of it, we ended up splitting the suggested same game parlay picks. We did so by way of cashing in on the under with ease after the teams combined for 120 points to fall well below the closing 147-point total. Caesars Sportsbook cleaned house on the matchup with 55% of the money riding the visiting Bulldogs, and nearly 80% of the booked handle expecting the teams to combine for a high scorer.
Though St. Mary’s converted at a blistering success rate through the game’s first 20 minutes, the Gaels only held a 36-28 lead at the break. The Zags immediately ate into it minutes into the second half, even taking a brief leads until the final minutes of the match, but an inability to come up with lose caroms at the defensive end of the court ultimately paved the way for the home team to hold on for the outright win and point spread cover. When it was said and done, Gonzaga was outrebounded 37-29 and allowed for Mitchell Saxen and co. to come up with 13 offensive rebounds leading to a number of second and third chance scoring opportunities ultimately leading to the Bulldogs demise.
Saint Mary’s finds itself in a position to take home consecutive West Coast Conference regular season championships with it now sitting a full two games ahead of San Francisco at 10-0 with only eight games remaining on the docket. As for the Zags, they sit a full three games behind the Gaels but will get a shot of redemption on Feb. 22 when St. Mary’s invades “The Kennel” looking to sweep the season rivalry.
Gonzaga Bulldogs at St. Mary’s Gaels Same Game Parlay Picks
Saturday night’s same game parlay picks take us to University Credit Union Pavilion in Moraga, California where the St. Mary’s Gaels will attempt to remain perfect in West Coast Conference play against the hated Gonzaga Bulldogs. Mark Few’s troops rattled off a second straight victory Tuesday night taking the wood to Oregon State 98-60 after the Beavers toppled the Zags in overtime back home a few weeks prior. As for Randy Bennett’s kids, they logged a ninth straight win on Wednesday when they went into Santa Clara and scored a carefree 67-54 win and cover as 4-point road chalk.
These hated rivals split their pair of regular season meetings last year with the road teams coming out on top in each. The Gaels tallied the 64-62 outright win as 4.5-point “Kennel” underdogs, while the Zags returned the favor in their trip to Moraga ousting St. Mary’s 70-57 as 3-point underdogs. The Gaels did however take the tie breaker in the WCC Tournament Final after posting the 69-60 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) win as 3.5-point College basketball betting odds underdogs. All three games played to the under with 127.3 points scored on average moving the under to 7-3 in the last 10 overall meetings. Caesars Sportsbook will have the Gaels installed short home favorites for this one with the total set in the mid-140s.

Gonzaga Bulldogs
Offense has been the name of the game for the Bulldogs who’ve unleashed it to procure their 16-6 SU and 9-13 ATS records to this point of the season. The Zags simply know how to score the basketball with the roster comprised of six players currently averaging double-digits in scoring. The guard/forward combo of Graham Ike and Ryan Nembhard have proven to be the offense’s bread and butter with the former averaging 17.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, and the latter averaging 11 points and team-high 9.9 assists per game.
Ranked out with KenPom’s No. 4 adjusted offensive efficiency, the Zags tickle the twine for nearly 90 points a game (#2) and shoot a blistering 50.2% from the field (#3). Readily able to do damage both far and near the rack, Gonzaga ranks 18th in two-point shooting percentage (#18) and backs it up with sharpshooters that convert at a 36.7% clip from beyond the arc (#59). The efficiency metrics are bolstered by ball handlers that take excellent care of the basketball (#7).
St. Mary’s Gaels
Per usual, it’s a completely different story for Bennett’s Gaels who routinely excel at the defensive end of the court and leave a bit to be desired offensively. St. Mary’s holds a dramatic defensive advantage in this matchup over the Bulldogs with Mitchell Saxen and his mates holding all opposition to just 61.0 points per game (#7) and 40% success rate from the field (#34). The showing finds the team ranked No. 25 in adjusted defensive efficiency per KenPom.
While the Gaels have done a tremendous job of not sending opponents to the charity stripe (#26), the defense has been lacking in the forced turnover department (#137) and had more of an issue locking down the perimeter (#131) than in years past. Ball security will be of utmost importance in this showdown, and St. Mary’s has done a solid job protecting its possessions (#40).
Same Game Parlay Picks
Though St. Mary’s held the upper hand in the season rivalry last year winning the WCC regular season title and capping it off with a tourney title, the first since 2019, I just don’t think this team has the offense to combat the assault about to invade the UCUP on Saturday night. Gonzaga owns by far the nastiest offense the West Coast Conference has to offer, and I can’t help but think Few’s kids will be out for blood after seeing their seven-year reign atop the standings come to a close.
The defense will keep the home team in it early, but when it matters most late, the Zags will simply just have too much firepower up their sleeve to pull away for the huge outright road win and cover. With that, I’ll be adding the Zags moneyline and under to my college basketball same game parlay picks late Saturday night.
