UFL Betting – Week 2 Parlay Picks
April 4, 2024Caesars Palace Springs into April Bonus Action
April 8, 2024With the NBA season quickly coming to a close plenty remains to be decided on the playoff front with some critical matchups included on the 13-game slate for Sunday, April 7. The 20 teams that will continue playing beyond the regular season have all been decided with the exception of the Houston Rockets. Houston has to win out and get some help to overtake Golden State for 10th in the West, otherwise the field is set. The Boston Celtics secured the best overall ledger in the NBA with a convincing, 135-100, win over Oklahoma City on Wednesday night. The Celtics won for the 12th time in 14 games covering the NBA betting line against one of the top teams in the West and improving to 10-4 as a NBA pick against the spread in that span.
There is some confusion at the top of the West standings with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets and OKC battling for first place. While that situation plays out there’s a mad scramble below with six teams vying for the final three automatic playoff spots making for some tough decisions on a NBA parlay at Caesars sportsbook. Pressure is on teams to secure a top 6 seed and not have to compete in the play-in tournament. Two huge Western Conference matchups highlight the schedule with the Dallas Mavericks hosting Houston in one of three games on NBA TV. Winners in eight of their last nine games with NBA point spread wins in five of their last seven, the LA Lakers look to enter the top 6 with a win over Minnesota.

This is a great time of year for NBA fans but a hectic period for those who like to play NBA picks and parlays. I thought I had a winning ticket last week until I didn’t. Backing the Lakers was a smart move as they covered the 6.5-point NBA line in a 116-104 win over Brooklyn. Unfortunately the other picks on my three-team NBA parlay didn’t work out. And speaking of the Lakers they just completed a 6-1 road trip beating Washington 125-120 on Wednesday for the eighth triumph in nine games. They were also a solid pick on the NBA line with six payouts in that span.
The Lakers reached the Western Conference Final last year through the play-in tournament and would rather not go that route again. They have just one fewer win than Dallas and Phoenix, who currently occupy fifth and sixth place in the conference. The Lakers dominated inside for a NBA point spread in the most recent meeting taking advantage of Karl-Anthony Towns’ absence by scoring 64 points in the paint in a 120-109 cover win.
A lot of teams have cured their ills against Charlotte this season and the Thunder are next in line. And boy can they use it. OKC is one of four teams to win 50 games and has been battling all season for first in the West, yet when they played Boston on Wednesday they were positioned as a 12.5-point road dog on the NBA betting line. Turns out it wasn’t enough in OKC’s 35-point loss. I do expect the team to rebound against the injury-plagued Hornets who are operating with a lame-duck coach following the announcement of Steve Clifford quitting once the season ends. That’s enough for me to back OKC as a NBA best bet.
I have to believe the Philadelphia 76ers are going to put a little run together now that Joel Embiid has returned. And it couldn’t have come at a better time with the season nearing its end. But, the club has to be smart about his playing time after Embiid missed two months with a knee injury. And with Sunday’s matchup the second of a back-to-back and the Sixers’ third game in four nights we could see the MVP on the bench giving San Antonio enough of a wedge to cover the NBA betting line. Even though their overall record sucks the Spurs have been playing better with five straight wins against the NBA point spread after covering in a narrow loss to Denver on Tuesday.
