Friday, March 22 NBA Parlay Picks

After hitting a winning three-team NBA parlay at Caesars sportsbook last week it’s back to the grind to see if we can keep the good times rolling. Eight games make up the schedule for Friday, March 22 and don’t let March Madness interfere with your willingness to wager on some intriguing matchups. The league best Boston Celtics are at it again beating Detroit on Monday for their sixth straight win. The Cs covered the NBA betting line in each of those games and they are 12-2 as a NBA pick against the spread over the last 14 games. They visit the Pistons on Friday.

Two of the three teams tied for the most wins in the Western Conference will be in action. Oklahoma City leads the West with one fewer loss than Minnesota and Denver and heads to Toronto to open a three-game road trip against the Raptors. OKC has the second-best cover rate in the NBA earning payouts in over 59 percent of its games. The Timberwolves have overcome the loss of Karl-Anthony Towns to remain relevant. They concluded a six-game road trip with consecutive payout wins over Utah and host the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first game of a NBA TV doubleheader. The evening ends with a matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and LA Lakers.

After coming close on several occasions and not even sniffing a winning parlay on a number of others, things finally aligned just right last week. The Phoenix/Charlotte matchup easily played under the NBA betting odds total of 220.5 giving me my first win. I backed the Pelicans -7 in their game with the Clippers, which they won 112-104 for win No. 2. And just so I didn’t have to sweat out a winning ticket, the Utah/Atlanta game went OVER the total of 223.5 midway through the fourth quarter in Utah’s 124-122 win. It feels good to have a winner after several weeks and it’ll feel better if I string a few together.

Man the Celtics have been on an absolute heater slamming the Pistons 119-94 on Monday for their sixth straight win. They’ve also been rolling at the betting window covering the NBA betting line in all six of those games and in 12 of their last 14. With the top seed in the East a near lock you might expect them to limit minutes of some players, which could impact their status as a NBA pick. We have yet to see an indication of that, though, and I’ll ride the hot team for at least another game.

A lot of people gave up on Minnesota when KAT was shelved with a knee injury. The team even stumbled a bit losing two in a row right after the injury. But the Wolves recovered beating the Clippers and Utah twice to remain in the hunt for the No. 1 seed in the West. The Cavs are dealing with their own injuries and dropped five of eight games before beating Indiana 108-103 on Monday night. With Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley out the offense has struggled leaving them vulnerable against one of the better defensive teams in the NBA. This is a tossup on the NBA betting line so backing the UNDER is the smart NBA pick.

It’s been a confounding season for the Golden State Warriors, who have a better road record than they have at home. This is a team that struggled mightily to win away from the Bay Area last season and during their championship years were nearly unbeatable on their floor. And their inability to win at the Chase Center will prevent them from moving up the West standings. The Dubs are just 1-4 at home following their loss to the Knicks on Monday and their cover rate of 41.2 percent leaves them as one of the least profitable teams in the Association. They’ve had nearly an entire season to figure things out and they haven’t leaving the Indiana Pacers with a glorious opportunity to not only cover the NBA line but win the game outright.
