NFL MVP Odds & Picks
October 27, 2022Sunday Night Football Picks – Green Bay Packers at Buffalo Bills
October 27, 2022At least one Korean team will be in the League of Legends World Championship Finals, and we could have an All-LCK Finals for the first time since 2017. Three of the four semifinalists at the 2022 League of Legends World Championship hail from the LCK, and either Gen. G or DRX will advance to the final after their semifinal showdown on Sunday. T1 can ensure there will be a Korean winner for the seventh time in the competition’s history, but they will have to get past the best team in China (JD Gaming) on Saturday to make that a guarantee.
The 2022 League of Legends World Championship Semifinals will take place on October 29-30, 2022. These are both best-of-five series that will start at 5 p.m. ET from State Farm Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
2022 League of Legends Worlds Semifinals Betting Odds
JD Gaming +115
T1 -140
T1 has been the most impressive team at Worlds so far this year. They finished ahead of defending World Champions EDward Gaming in the Group Stage and then thrashed Mid-Season Invitational winners Royal Never Give Up 3-0 in the quarterfinals.
Faker is looking to put an exclamation point on his legacy as the greatest player in the history of the game. The three-time World Championship winning mid laner has not led his team to a Worlds title since 2017, but this is his most talented team since that point.
Although T1 are young, they have arguably the best top laner in the world in Zeus and the best support in the world in Keria. This is not a meta where top laners are supposed to have a big impact, but Zeus has proven that he can hard carry on champions like Yone, Fiora, and Camille. Meanwhile, Keria has thrived on the most important support picks in this tournament, proving he can play Nami, Soraka, Renata, and Heimerdinger very effectively.
The X-Factor for T1 is bottom laner Gumayusi. If Gumayusi performs like he did against RNG in the quarterfinals, it’s hard to see a way that T1 can lose this series. He has been excellent in this competition with an 18.5 KDA per Games of Legends, but he has had troubles with his consistency.
JD Gaming has a top laner that can go toe-to-toe with Zeus in 369, but the key to this team’s success has been Kanavi. JDG have prioritized strong jungler picks like Viego and Graves for Kanavi throughout the tournament, and he has rewarded them with a 7-0 record and a 6.2 KDA on those champions at Worlds.
However, Yagao has been largely dependent on Sylas at this tournament, and he is not going to be able to decisively win his lane against Faker. Hope and Missing aren’t an elite bottom lane pair either, so T1 definitely has the edge.
Gen.G -425
DRX +300
The reigning LCK champions are heavy favorites by the League of Legends betting odds in this series and rightfully so. Gen.G were pushed to the brink by DWG KIA once again in the quarterfinals, but they managed to survive and are now rewarded with the weakest of the semifinalists. We saw Gen.G hammer DRX in all four of their meetings in the LCK Summer Split, and it’s hard to see a path to victory for the underdogs although they have improved over the course of this tournament.
Mid laner Zeka has been the best player on DRX at this tournament, and he took over in their quarterfinal series against EDG. The bottom lane of Deft and Beryl is solid, but Pyosik will need to have the series of his career for DRX to upset the apple cart.
Peanut was thoroughly outclassed by his counterpart Canyon last series, but the veteran jungler should bounce back in a big way. He is alongside the most mechanically skilled mid laner in the world in Chovy and an elite bottom lane that can play in several different ways depending upon the draft and team comp. Ruler leads Gen.G in damage this tournament and has had just one dud of a game, as Lehends has helped the former World Champion thrive once again in his role.
